Bighorn Sheep in the Rut

Bighorn Sheep in the Rut - Ramming by Packy Savvenas

I headed out to the National Elk Refuge in Jackson the same day I photographed the Mountain Goats.

Lucky me, I happened to capture these boys going at it for quite a while.

It’s not often that you catch Bighorn sheep in the rut really going at it like this.

This picture has been featured here in Jackson Hole in many publications and online!

I had no idea that when they actually made contact it sounded like a shotgun going off.
It was an experience I will never forget!

Plus, Bighorn Sheep just happen to be my favorite animals alive.
